Felt like making a good old fashioned collage, so I designed a filmposter for the Blue Beat & Ska (BBS) collective. Firmly based on the iconic "The Harder They Come" movie (Perry Henzell, 1972) in which Jimmy Cliff starred as Ivan Martin, I searched the web for photo's of a cool car, a tall building, a scooter etc. Decided to incorporate some of the deejays of BBS as well and use the famous Treasure Isle Recording studio for the background. Then I used Photoshop to create a comic book effect in black and white and painted all the colors in by hand. The result is a cool looking retro poster.

Blue Beat & Ska was over the moon, as well as many of its 400.000 followers. The poster is now adorning many a wall all over the world as BBS offered it as a free download on their page. 

I had so much fun working with this style that I made a one off for one of the deejays (Johnny Gunman). After that, of course, everybody wanted one :)
